INT Media Group, Inc. said TheCounter.com would continue to offer sections of its site for free but subscribers would now have to pony up $9.95 for a 12-month subscription to access a premium section.
INT Media Group runs the internet.com network, which publishes the atNewYork newsletter and Web site.
The Darien, Conn.-based firm said premium subscribers for TheCounter.com's Web site metrics would have access to in-depth reports such as statistics on browser usage, screen resolution, operating systems and site referrers.
The premium edition also gives users a Web site traffic report page that can be accessed via the Web round-the-clock. It also dishes a weekly page view statistics alert, delivered via e-mail and four styles of counters that can be used on Web pages, including an invisible counter.
The move to implement a paid version to TheCounter.com comes at a time when the softening online advertising marketing has forced many ad-dependent companies to tinker with new ways to generate revenue.
INT Media Group, which makes money from advertising and seminars, has rolled out a series of premium services in recent months, including research reports from CyberAtlas and allNetResearch.
